the 1st week of march is over....

Following our full Monday we headed out early Tuesday morning for Matt's dentist appointment before school.

He did so good at the dentist. They kept bragging on him. It was much different then our past visits. He layed down and opened wide with no fussing. He was so good. He even let them do xrays without any problems. We got great reports of no cavities and good looking teeth so all is well.

Thursday after school Matt and Dad made a cake.

Friday evening we had some excitement with a house fire behind us. We made sure the lady was out of the house, Jeff called 911, then we brought her dog over to our yard while we waited with her for the firemen to show up. I didn't want to be intrusive and go get my camera so I waited until the fire was out, and the guys were cleaning up and took a few shots from our yard.

Jeff and Oz going for a walk.

i call this my "home improvement shot". remember the neighbor on home improvement that we never saw but he was always peering over the fence! wasn't his name Wilson?

you can see the charred eves and soot over the window in this picture.

I left not too long after the excitement to go meet with some friends for our book club! We laughed and enjoyed a great time! The book we had read for this time was called The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. It was a cute book. I really enjoyed it! We are now on to read The Great Train Robbery, The Great Gatsby and Prep to get us through the rest of the year (with a few movie nights thrown in there to help us grow culturally!)

Saturday morning we met Stephanie and Riley at the Discovery Center. We made the plan before I found out it was the Dr. Seuss celebration which was also free admission day and super crowded! But it was fun!

a full monday

Monday morning started with some goofing off around the house!

sporting a super cool faux hawk

we headed to speech a little early and met up with Granny, Bryson and Mason at the cafeteria so we could surprise Abbye and Austin for lunch!

Matthew and I left lunch a little early and went down the hall so he could go to speech. He even got to do some bowling during speech! He loved it!

Then it was home to spend the rest of the afternoon playing!

i got a kick out of Mason in the Mater suit!

It was a fun and full day!!

weekend fun

Saturday started with Jeff heading to work super early to start his 2 weeks of a little different work schedule. Then Matt and I made our way to the Discovery Center!

The 1st (and only) stop of the day was the train table!

Then Jeff met us there to play with Matt some more while I went to the workshop to end our Photography class. It was held at the Oaklands Historic Mansion. What a neat place. I cant wait to go back in the spring to see how some added color will brighten it up! Here are some shots I took while there!

then Sunday the entire family (after church and mexican food!) headed to the arts center to watch Seussical the Musical! The cast did a fabulous job! I love anything Dr. Seuss and this was fantastic!

waiting for the show to start

does he look excited or what??!!

then afterwards it was to McDonalds for some ice cream before going back to granny's house to play!

another week has past

I got a kick out of Matt riding in the room on his truck Monday morning making horn sounds!

After he rode around the house a bit we headed to speech then we picked up granny so she could go to the pool with us and swim a bit before Matt's swim lesson.

Then on Tuesday it was school and work followed by another swim lesson. Here the little boys are following Dakota like little ducks!

Wednesday we did some running around and had lunch with granny. Then Matt got to play some games on the ipod before going to swim.

At swim lessons he got to pour water on Kelly!

Then they got to wear life jackets for the 1st and only time!

They actually enjoyed it! Here he was telling her to scoot back so he could jump in!

Much easier to float on your back with a life jacket on!

Thursday was another full day of work and school then more swimming. We went to the pool early and after swimming an hour took a break before lessons. He got to play more ipod games while he rested!

jumping in the pool

there was a pretty sunset on the way home. i should have stopped on the hill to take a pic but i didn't and when i got down the road a ways it was partly blocked by the trees but the colors were still pretty!

Then on Friday Matt spent the morning with granny while I went to do some more work. Then it was back to town to swim. Granny went with us again to enjoy the water and Matthew's last swim lesson!
