5th Birthday Party

On Sat we had Matthew’s birthday party. We held it a weekend early again this year because Jackpot is due so close to Matt’s actual birthday.

That morning we did some decorating then Matthew and Dad headed to his soccer game while I stayed behind to get ready and rest!

What Matthew didnt know was that TX Granny, Grayson and GG were in town from TX and were going to surprise him at his soccer game! He was so glad to see them and have him here for his party!

The following huge dinos were done by Matthew’s Sunday school teacher, Ms Denise. She drew a super cool Stegosaurus for their class and I asked if she had time to do a couple for the party and this is what they came to be. Loved them!!

How cute are these guys! I made every child a dinosaur tail to wear at the party and to take home!

Checking out the dino eggs. We hid 3 clues so they could guess what kind of dino was on the cake. 1 clue was easily found in the sand table. It read “walks on 2 legs”. The 2nd clue was in 1 of the 3 paper mache TRex eggs. They gathered around and broke open the eggs to find the clue. Matt found it and it said “meat eater”.

As you can tell the pinata took forever to break! It just wasnt budging at all. Jeff ended up having to beat it a little to get it open!

It was such a great day! A big huge thank you to everyone who came out to help us celebrate! I have one very special and loved little almost 5 yr old. I say almost because when he saw his name banner he asked why there was a 5 on it because he doesnt turn 5 til the 17th! Then he had the nerve to ask if his party was today then what are we doing on the 17th! LOL

another dr update

well today was our weekly friday dr appointment! Jeff was off work but he stayed home to get the yard work done and other stuff to prep for Matthew's birthday party which is tomorrow! So Matt and I went to the dr. He had to come with me cause dad was gonna be mowing and he also needed a hair cut!

This was actually the only appointment I have been concerned. You see, contractions have been a little more the past day or so and while part of me wanted to get checked to see if they are doing anything, the other part of me didnt want to know at all because we got to get through this party! If Silas wants to come early that will be fine but it has to be after 4pm tomorrow! LOL

So we get all the regular measurements and all look good like weight gain and my blood pressure. Belly is measuring great and his heartbeat was 143. I got checked and seems that so far these contractions are just annoying, not making any progress so that is good. I also got another blood draw to check iron levels. Dr H is confident that we will make our next appointment and will deliver on schedule. But he did say to take it slow and spend some time resting next week cause little man can always come early!

Matthew was in rare form listening to the ipod and his favorite song, Beer on the Table, and dancing around the office! Was too funny!

So we made our final dr appointment for next friday! If all goes as planned then we will be holding Jackpot in our arms in 12 days!

Matthew got his haircut and we did more party prep this evening now time for bed so we can get decorating in the morning! And one thing that Matt doesnt know yet, TX Granny, Gran and Grayson are on their way for his party! They are hoping to make it to surprise him at soccer but if not they will surprise him at the house!

One last going away party

Monday evening we were invited to join the Goddard’s along with other friends for some Monday Night Football at Buffalo Wild Wings! Their favorite team was playing (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) so it was perfect. Lots of Jon’s poker buddies were able to make it out as well.

A great time was had by all. Matt and I headed home rather early and left Jeff to hang with the guys! Just what the doctor ordered for us all!

Matthew and Jackson discussed sending postcards so they dont forget each other. It was too cute!

Saturday evening we got together at the Jordan’s with the Seago’s and the Goddard’s for some burgers and play time! Let me tell you that these kiddos ran around for several hours and had an absolute blast. We ended up spending the entire evening outside and it was perfect!

We laughed and talked and had the greatest time! Burgers were fantastic, the kids were worn out, the fire pit was perfect. A great time with great friends who will be missed so much! We love you Jon, Sarah, Jackson and Mary Grace!! And be prepared because the Bane’s are thinking that a DC vacation may be in the near future!!

Cant wait to meet out little man!  Matthew has been talking more about helping out with his brother and he promises he wont let him go down the drain!  LOL
