And some shots over at the Hard Rock Hotel
Granny had heard on the news about a Veteran’s Day Parade so why not go check it out! From what we looked up online about it it is a huge parade and one of the largest that side of the Mississippi. We got downtown early and had our choice of spots so we choose the shade!
We were right across from this hotel.
While waiting some firetrucks converged on the intersection just down the block. So we watched to see what they were going to do.
Where else but Vegas do you see dice on your firetrucks?!
Both ladders extended and we watched
as this giant flag was hung over the parade route. Fantastic!
I walked to the other side for a quick pic.
We were joined by the nicest couple who happen to be from the area! She even brought us her car floor mats to sit on the curb on! Not to mention some bottled water halfway thru the parade.
The parade was 2 hours long. And the pictures above of the ROTC groups don’t even do them justice. These local high schools had ROTC groups and bands with a couple hundred kids! They were amazing to see. Along with several other organizations and tons of veterans to give our thank you’s too.
While we were there we checked out Fremont Street. Slotzilla is where you can zipline from
See the people at the top ziplineing!!
Buffett lunch but don’t stay too long haha
First time on the slots and am up a few cents at least!
Jeff eyeballing the Heart Attack Grill
Lighted signs in the medians
Praying Mantis truck outside the Container Park
Do you see that red reflector..right there on the outside of the container. It’s a geocache! Its magnetic stuck to the side, grab it and slide it open to sign the log and back it goes!
A drive by of mom’s pawn shop place. There was always a line out front
Cool shot from near the base of Stratosphere. You can control free fall off the side, or a couple other rides on top
After picking up Pap we went back to Fremont to see the lights
Getting in on the action
more zipliners
Pictures from inside our hotel, in the food and bar area
Looks like city streets in NY
And this time a trip to the 2nd flood of Hersheys World!
And a wall of mix and match jolly ranchers!
A fun day seeing some interesting things and getting more than we bargained for with some of the street performers! Who knew there is a market for a man in his underwear and a women in nothing but a tutu oh and maybe some electrical tape but I didn’t really look that close! Love a city that never sleeps!
