Happy Valentine's Day

Valentine's day had the privledge of following a Sunday filled with church and family.

Matt was up for a quick picture after getting dressed

Then it was off to town for Mrs Cebell's funeral. This woman was one class act. She was always dressed to the nine and boy was she a spitfire! She could tell stories for hours. I had the honor of hearing some stories at various lunch dates. Matthew said he remembers going to Mrs. Cebell's and helping to water plants with Granny. You see, to Granny and Pappy, Mrs. Cebell wasnt just someone they knew but she was a dear friend.

Here is a cell phone shot of my guys in the funeral home.

Lunch at Red Lobster

Playing video games at the movie theater waiting for the show to start

got his popcorn and ready for the movie!

We saw Gnomeo & Juliet. It was a cute movie. Matt got a little disappointed at first because he saw a poster for Cars 2 and he was so sure that was the movie we were going to see. Try to explain to a 4 yr old that Cars 2 doesnt come out until June and see how far ya get!

One quick stop for an ice cream cone before home for the night!

Valentines day was fantastic with my two favorite guys!

saturday hanging with friends

Saturday morning Matt went to hang with Luke while I went with Christy and Becky to pick up our race stuff for that days half marathon that we werent going to run. Becky was injured as with Christy and I was sick and didnt want to push it. So we got our shirts and bibs then went to Goodness Gracious for brunch! What a fun time it was!

Jeff, Matt and I then hung out and Matt got in a nap before we went back to Christy's for dinner! They made some yummy food! Steaks were awesome, yummy baked potatoes, salad and rolls which was followed by homemade strawberry shortcake! Yummmmmm just check this thing out!

After dinner the kids played and we talked and laughed and had a great time!

Evelyn had to wear brothers hat

How fun it was! Thank you to the Jordan's for a great evening!

Dino Field Guide Day!

Thursday was a lazy snow day at our house. Friday we had to get out of the house and run a few errands. While going to drop of prints for a friend Matt asked if we could go find a book about dinosaurs. So we did just that. We checked out Barnes & Noble and found some cool dino books. One is a neat flashcard thing and the other was a fun activity/sticker book. Of course while we were at the Avenue we had to run by the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and get dad a couple peanut butter buckets and white chocolate covered pretzels.

When we got home Matt asked if he could have a Dino Field Guide like Dino Dan's. It was music to my ears. There is one thing that to a Geologist is the most important and that is their field book. I got out one of my empty field books and gladly printed some dino information to pull together a field guide. Matt helped me pick his favorite dinos and helped cut out the pictures. He picked out the stickers for the front and was so excited to have his very own field guide!

On Wednesday I was just feeling horrible. Matt had woke up with a headache and I came home from the gym with a headache. We rested a bit and Matt said he felt a little better but we had to head out for a drs appointment real quick. After eating he did say his forehead ache was all gone.

So we hung out that day, I got word that I didnt have class that night due to the weather that was coming in. After dad got home we made it to eat but I had a fever set in and just wanted to go home to lay down.

Of course when you want to lay down in our house you get some company with you!

mom dropped the ball

Well today didnt quite go as well as hoped! Matthew was supposed to start swim lessons.

He was excited all day to go! He would ask nearly every hour if it was time yet. So finally we leave the house, pay some bills, grab a snack and he falls asleep on the way to swim lessons. He sleeps a few minutes in the car then when I wake him he is super excited because we are already there!

We run across the parking lot in the rain! Go inside and he gets his trunks on. We go get a seat on the edge of the pool to wait the 15 minutes until lessons start.

Then at time for class a girl comes over to ask if he are there for swim lessons. I said yes and could tell by looking at her face that they were cancelled. She said the front desk said they called and left a message. I knew immediately they must have called the home phone. Why did I put both numbers on the form? Why not just the darn cell number?

Instantly Matt was in tears. He climbed in my lap and just cried and cried. The lady came back over and said he was welcome to swim if he wanted. When I tried to talk to him about staying to swim and practice he said he just wanted to go home. Dakota, one of his teachers from last year at swim lessons came over to say hi. He asked what was wrong and I told him that we came for lessons but they were cancelled and he felt so bad. He even asked Matt if he wanted to swim for a bit and Matt said that he was "too dissappointed to swim".

I felt so bad for him. We got his bag and went to change clothes. He was just sobbing. That upset devasted kind of sobs. My heart was breaking for him. We had talked about swimming for a couple weeks and today he was just so ready to go.

So we went by the front desk on the way out and the lady apologized that they didnt call both numbers. She gave matt some candy and said she was so sorry. Our plan is to do a couple private lessons next week and then look into trying for the next either March or April session of swim lessons (or both).

I learned a valuable lesson today... dont give out my home number if we arent going to answer the phone; check the caller ID; or check the messages! Only put down my cell number on all forms from here on out cause that thing never leaves my side!

what's been going on??

So this past week has gone by pretty quick and kind of uneventful! Jeff did have a couple days off cause we had dr appts. One of those days we both went to the rec center and he showed me all the weight machines so I can start some resistance training to go with my running. Matt ended up not having speech because his therapist was sick. Errands, errands, errands seemed to be the theme all week.

I am super excited about getting some runs in with my new shoes. I got a new pair last week and after a couple runs I knew they werent going to work so back to the store they went. I refitted and it seems that my form and feet have gotten stronger since my 1st fitting and shoes a couple yrs ago so I was able to get a different stability shoe. I ended up with New Balance and did a trial couple mile walk in them and felt good. I am so a Nike foot that being in a New Balance seems odd but as long as they feel good I am willing to try!

Friday we went to grab hibachi and stopped for a few things at walmart on the way home. Of course we had to get a cake! Any excuse for cake is a good excuse! Here are a couple cell shots of our SuperBowl cake! LOL

Sunday after church Matt signed his name to some Valentine cards for next week to take to his Bible class.

Then time for some orange sherbert and cartoons

after ice cream Matt got awfully quiet and this is what we found on the chaisse lounge! hehehe

Jeff enjoying a yummy frozen strawberry margarita!

Granny and Pappy came to watch the game and share in some snacks. We woke Matt up and he was a nut! He had to show granny his video game but like usual he plays for 5 minutes then wants to watch you play!

SuperBowl XLV ended with Green Bay Packers winning over Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25. Not my ideal outcome but a good fun game none the less!
