A couple months ago we noticed a small growth on the outer edge of Oz’s left ear. It was just a black dry area so we have just watched it.
Well on Monday night during his bath it started to bleed. And it just didnt want to stop. So we put a bandage on it and planned to take him to the vet the next morning.
So after dropping Matt off at school we were vet bound. He said it is a for of skin tumor. We dont yet know if it is benign or malignant but will soon. He said that once they start to bleed they are hard to stop. They are more sensitive to being irritated. And this one being on the outer side of the ear was in a bad place. So we decided to go ahead and remove the growth.
So after spending the afternoon at the vet we got our big boy back. He did great during the surgery and afterwards.
Once the stitches are gone and the hair grows back you probably wont even noticed that part of the ear was removed. He did a good job of shaping the ear rather than gouging it to remove the spot.
